Road conditions improving, crashes reported around metro
Overnight snow caused some slick road conditions in central Iowa. There have been reports of crashes in the metro as well.

The Iowa Department of Transportation reports some partially covered roads around central Iowa. Plows have been working to improve road conditions. Check 511ia.org before you travel.
A crash temporarily closed the westbound ramp from Interstate 35-80 to Interstate 80 at the West Mixmaster. That crash closed the ramp from about 5:15 a.m. to about 6:15 a.m.
Slick roads were to blame for a crash on the Mile Long Bridge in Polk City.
The fire department posted a picture on their Facebook page warning drivers to take extreme caution while crossing the bridge that goes over Saylorville Lake.
The crash did close the bridge for a while, but it has since reopened.
